Interim Accountant

IPS Finance

We are currently recruiting for an Interim Accountant to join a retail business based in Huddersfield on an initial 6-month contract.

This is a hybrid role with 2 days WFH.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, this role will provide vital support across both day-to-day finance operations and commercial finance activities during a busy period for the business.

The Role This is a varied and hands-on position combining core accounting responsibilities with commercial analysis and business support. Key duties will include:

  • Assisting with month-end reporting and management accounts
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and ledger reviews
  • Producing financial analysis and performance reporting
  • Supporting cashflow and working capital reporting
  • Assisting with process improvements and ad hoc finance projects
  • Providing commercial insight to support decision making
  • Supporting the Financial Controller across wider finance activities
The Candidate We are looking for someone who can quickly integrate into the team and add value from day one.

You will ideally:

  • Be comfortable operating in a hands-on finance environment
  • Possess strong Excel and analytical skills
  • Be confident communicating with stakeholders across the business
  • Be available to start immediately or at short notice
