Interim Band 6 Occupational Therapist – CAMHS / CYP Eating Disorders

We are working in partnership with an NHS organisation to recruit an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a Children and Young People’s (CYP) CAMHS Eating Disorders service in Shrewsbury for 8 weeknd initially with an option to extend. This is a fantastic interim opportunity to work within a specialist multi-disciplinary team, supporting young people with complex mental health and eating disorder needs in a community setting.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage a clinical caseload of CYP patients with eating disorders supporting assessment and ongoing care delivery
· Deliver evidence-based OT assessments and interventions aligned with an eating disorders treatment model
· Support the team with specialist assessments, including complex presentations such as ARFID
· Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary professionals across CAMHS, education and partner agencies
· Develop and implement care plans focused on recovery, functional improvement and wellbeing
· Deliver individual and group-based interventions where appropriate
· Contribute to MDT meetings, case discussions and clinical decision-making
· Complete high-quality clinical documentation in line with service requirements
· Support risk assessment and management within a CYP mental health framework
· Provide support and guidance to colleagues, contributing to a collaborative team approach
Essential Requirements
· Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration
· Strong experience working within CAMHS / CYP services
· Essential experience working with eating disorders, including structured treatment models
· Experience supporting or managing cases involving ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder)
· Proven ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and external professionals
· Experience delivering assessments, care planning and therapeutic interventions
· Ability to manage a caseload independently within a community setting
· Excellent communication skills when working with young people, families and professionals
