Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Behaviour Intervention Support Assistants and SEN Support Staff to work across a range of schools in Bolton or Wigan. These roles are ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional behavioural, social, emotional, and special educational needs.
Positions are available for a September start, with opportunities for both long-term placements and permanent roles for the right candidates.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide targeted behaviour intervention support to pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and additional needs
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to improve engagement and learning outcomes
- Implement behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies consistently
- Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour safely and effectively
- Promote emotional regulation, self-awareness, and positive coping strategies
- Support reintegration into classroom learning and school routines
- Assist teaching staff in creating a structured, calm, and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor, record, and report behaviour, progress, and incidents accurately
- Work closely with SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external professionals
- Maintain safeguarding standards and ensure pupil wellbeing at all times
- Experience working with children or young people with behavioural or additional needs (school, youth work, care, or similar)
- Strong understanding of behaviour management and safeguarding
- Calm, resilient, and confident when dealing with challenging situations
- Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners to succeed
- Behaviour support and SEN roles across Bolton or Wigan schools

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
