We are recruiting for an IT Technician for a Warehouse & Distribution Centre based outside Coventry.

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and organised IT Technician to support and maintain all site-based IT systems and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of hardware, software, network, and warehouse management systems, while acting as the primary on-site contact for IT-related support.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritise workloads effectively, and excellent communication across all levels of the business.

Qualifications & Experience

Formal IT qualifications are desirable; however, relevant hands-on experience and technical capability will be equally considered.

Reporting Structure

Reports to:

  • Warehouse Manager
  • Functional support relationship with Head Office IT and external IT support teams

Direct Reports:

  • None currently

Communication & Meetings

The role includes participation in regular IT review meetings to discuss system performance, ongoing issues, and improvement opportunities. Strong day-to-day communication with operational teams and external support providers is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for all site IT support issues, including hardware, network, and warehouse systems
  • Carry out routine maintenance and troubleshooting for local IT equipment
  • Liaise with internal and external IT teams to resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Manage scanners, devices, and other operational equipment on site
  • Administer user accounts, password compliance, and system access controls
  • Support and maintain warehouse and fleet management systems, including reporting functions
  • Become a key user and local expert for site operational systems and software
  • Procure IT equipment, ensuring suitability, value, and timely delivery
  • Support projects by providing accurate technical information and operational input
  • Deliver system training and create user documentation where required
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure secure handling of sensitive information
  • Ensure business continuity documentation is accurate and accessible

Development & Future Growth

As the business expands, the role will develop to include wider system administration responsibilities, infrastructure management, project support, and potentially the recruitment and supervision of additional IT team members. A commitment to continuous learning and process improvement is essential for long-term success in the position.
