For nearly twenty years, we have been at the forefront of network connectivity, providing innovative solutions that empower governments, network operators, and blue-chip businesses worldwide to become ‘better connected’. More recently, we have pioneered the use of Artificial Intelligence to develop and enhance our tools.
About the role
Metricell is looking for a detail-focused Junior As-Built Documentation Engineer to support our Consulting team with the production of validated As-Built documentation packs for telecoms infrastructure projects.
The role will mainly involve reviewing, compiling, validating and updating technical documentation for RF engineering solutions, ensuring that each As-Built pack accurately reflects the final installed solution. You will work with drawings, design records, build documentation, asset information and technical inputs from engineers and project stakeholders to produce clear, consistent and high-quality deliverables.
This would suit someone with strong attention to detail, good document control discipline, and experience working with telecoms, RF, DAS, construction, engineering drawings, or technical project documentation.
The nature of the consulting team means you may be required to participate in other projects such as field testing, site surveys and analysing reports to support customer demands.
Key responsibilities
- Compile and maintain As-Built documentation packs in line with agreed project templates and client requirements.
- Review and validate information from design documents, build packs, RF schematics, GA/floorplan drawings, bills of materials, asset registers and supporting technical records.
- Cross-check configuration, connection and equipment-location details across multiple data sources.
- Update documentation to reflect final installed/as-built information, including DAS LRNs, antennas, HCUs/gHCUs, LRNs/gLRNs and other relevant equipment.
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies or missing information and raise queries with engineers, project managers and stakeholders to help resolve them.
- Maintain clear document control, version history and quality standards.
- Support the Consulting team in delivering accurate, operator-specific MNO As-Built reports to agreed timescales.
- Ensure completed documentation is professional, consistent and ready for client submission.
Skills and experience
Essential
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with technical information.
- Experience producing, checking or managing technical documentation.
- Comfortable working with drawings, floorplans, schematics, spreadsheets and structured report templates.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel.
- Ability to compare information across multiple sources and spot discrepancies.
- Clear written communication and good document formatting skills.
- Organised, self-motivated and able to work to deadlines.
Desirable
- Knowledge of telecoms, mobile networks, RF engineering, DAS, neutral host, construction, utilities or infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with As-Built documentation, asset registers, bill of materials, RF schematics, GA drawings, ICNIRP/RF compliance documents or engineering handover packs.
- Understanding of MNO environments or multi-operator reporting requirements.
- Experience using drawing, diagramming, GIS, document management or collaboration tools.
- Knowledge of site build, design-to-build reconciliation, or project handover processes.
Person profile
We’re looking for someone who is methodical, precise and comfortable working through large volumes of technical information. You do not need to be an RF engineer, but you should be able to interpret technical drawings and documentation, ask sensible questions, and produce high-quality client-facing reports.
The ideal person will be organised, proactive and confident working with engineers and project teams to clarify details, resolve gaps and keep documentation moving through to completion.
