Junior Technical Business Analyst
Constant Recruitment Ltd
Junior Technical Business Analyst
Kings Hill, Kent
Office Based
£30,000 - £35,000
Are you the person who naturally asks "why"?
Do you enjoy understanding how systems, processes, and people fit together?
Can you spot problems, challenge assumptions, and help turn ideas into practical solutions?
We are recruiting for a Junior Technical Business Analyst to join a well-established business based in Kings Hill.
This role is not about producing endless documentation or following rigid processes.
It is about understanding how the business works, asking the right questions, and helping teams move forward when requirements are unclear, priorities change, or problems need solving.
You might currently be working as a Business Analyst, Test Analyst, QA Analyst, Systems Analyst, Application Support Analyst, Project Support Analyst, or in another role where you regularly investigate issues, work with stakeholders, and help deliver change.
What matters most is not your job title.
We are looking for somebody who is naturally curious, enjoys solving problems, communicates well with different types of people, and is prepared to challenge assumptions when needed.
The Role
You will act as the link between users, operational teams, and developers.
Your job will be to understand what people are trying to achieve, identify what is really required, and help translate that into practical solutions.
You will work across a variety of projects and initiatives, ranging from larger business improvements through to smaller day-to-day changes and enhancements.
No two days are likely to be the same.
This is an environment where priorities can change quickly, where not every answer is immediately available, and where people value action over bureaucracy.
What You Will Be Doing
Working with stakeholders to understand business problems, challenges, and opportunities
Gathering, analysing, and clarifying requirements
Translating business needs into clear user stories and technical requirements
Supporting workshops, meetings, and requirement gathering sessions
Acting as the communication bridge between business users and technical teams
Creating and maintaining project and system documentation
Supporting testing activities, including creating test cases and validating solutions
Logging, tracking, and helping resolve defects and issues
Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and ways of working
Supporting change initiatives across multiple areas of the business
Providing occasional IT and systems support where required (training provided)
There is occasional out-of-hours implementation testing, typically once per week, with time given back in lieu.
What We Are Looking For
We are less interested in specific job titles and more interested in how you think and approach problems.
You may already have experience in:
Business Analysis
Testing or QA
Systems Analysis
Application Support
Software Support
Project Support
Technical Coordination
Change Delivery
You will ideally be able to demonstrate:
- Experience gathering or clarifying requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- The ability to explain technical concepts in plain English
- Experience producing documentation, user stories, process maps, or test scripts
- A logical and analytical approach to problem solving
- A willingness to challenge assumptions and ask difficult questions when needed
- The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Technical Awareness
You do not need to be a developer.
However, you should be comfortable discussing technical concepts with development and delivery teams.
Useful exposure may include:
- Azure DevOps, Jira, ClickUp, or similar tools
- Basic SQL awareness
- Software development environments
- Testing and QA activities
- Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or Kanban methodologies
- Microsoft Office applications including Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
The Type of Person Who Succeeds Here
You are likely to be:
- Naturally curious
- Analytical and inquisitive
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
- Pragmatic and solutions-focused
- Resilient under pressure
- Organised and adaptable
- Confident communicating with people at all levels
- Someone who takes ownership and gets things done
You enjoy understanding how things work, identifying better ways of doing them, and helping people achieve positive outcomes.
In Return
- Salary of £30,000 - £35,000
- Exposure to a wide variety of projects and business challenges
- The opportunity to develop your analysis, systems, and stakeholder management skills
- A supportive environment where you can broaden your experience and grow your career
- The chance to play a genuine role in improving how the business operates
If you enjoy solving problems, asking questions, and helping connect the dots between people, systems, and processes, we would love to hear from you.
