We are recruiting for an experienced Key Account Manager to join a growing and ambitious engineering business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a consultative B2B sales environment and enjoys managing key customer relationships while driving new business growth.

The Role

As a Key Account Manager, you will take ownership of an established territory, managing key accounts and developing repeat business opportunities across the engineering sector. You will play a key role in driving profitability, increasing market share and supporting the wider commercial objectives of the business.

This is a consultative, relationship-led sales role requiring strong technical understanding, commercial awareness and the ability to identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets within your territory
  • Manage and develop existing key accounts to maximise repeat business opportunities
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive sales activity
  • Follow up and convert marketing-generated leads
  • Plan and manage customer site visits effectively
  • Prepare and submit technical quotations and sales documentation
  • Work closely with customers and internal technical teams to deliver solutions
  • Maintain accurate records and pipeline activity through the CRM system
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, KPI reporting and activity updates
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends
  • Support the Sales Director and wider business where required

About You

We are looking for a motivated and professional sales individual who can combine technical understanding with strong relationship management skills.

You will ideally have:

  • A proven track record in engineering or technical sales
  • Experience within a consultative B2B sales environment
  • Strong account management and customer relationship skills
  • A technical mindset with an interest in mechanical products
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • The ability to manage priorities and work towards targets
  • A professional and proactive approach
