KS4 SEN Teacher

UCM Education

We are looking for a high-quality SEN Teacher to join a supportive secondary SEN school in Southwark.

This is a full-time role within a specialist KS4 setting, working with a class of 7 pupils who are currently working towards Year 1 levels, with 2 pupils working at Year 2 levels. The class has a range of communication needs, including pupils who use iPads for communication, core boards, and verbal communication.

The school is seeking a nurturing and adaptable teacher with experience supporting pupils with complex SEND and communication needs. This is a long-term opportunity with a supportive classroom team already in place.

You will be:

  • Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons to meet a range of learning needs
  • Supporting pupils with complex SEND and communication needs
  • Working with pupils who use alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), including iPads and core boards
  • Demonstrating strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider school team
  • Creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
  • Reflective, proactive, and committed to achieving the best outcomes for pupils

The successful candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, and have experience working with pupils with SEND. Experience within SEN schools or specialist provisions would be highly beneficial.
