About the Role
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Senior School from September 2026. This full-time role is 5 days per week, approximately 36 weeks per year, working 8:00am–4.30pm. You will support the smooth running of a busy Science Department by preparing materials and apparatus for lessons, maintaining equipment, and ensuring Health & Safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and set up apparatus, materials, and chemical solutions for lessons.
• Assist teachers with practical experiments and demonstrations.
• Maintain laboratories, equipment, chemicals, and stock levels.
• Undertake stock checks, place orders, and manage deliveries.
• Carry out minor repairs or arrange external servicing.
• Ensure safe storage of chemicals and equipment.
• Maintain Health & Safety documentation, risk assessments, and CLEAPSS compliance.
• Keep laboratories clean, tidy, and well organised.
• Support science clubs, open days, and enrichment activities.
• Dispose of waste materials safely.

Person Specification
• Science background with experience handling chemicals and lab equipment.
• Strong organisational and practical skills.
• Good knowledge of laboratory Health & Safety requirements.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Flexible, reliable, and able to work as part of a team.
• Desirable: Previous school lab experience or relevant science qualifications.
