THE ROLE
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for an experienced platform lift engineer ready to step up. You'll lead a small installation team on-site, combining technical delivery with mentoring, training and day-to-day team management — while remaining a practical, working engineer on every project.
You'll be trusted to run installations independently, manage your team's performance, and act as a technical resource for colleagues and external clients. If you've been doing the job for years and you're ready to own it — this is the opportunity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading the end-to-end installation and commissioning of platform lifts — on time, on budget, safely
- Day-to-day leadership of the installation team including training and development of junior engineers
- Providing technical support to internal teams and external clients
- Delivering internal training on installation, maintenance and product knowledge
- Carrying out servicing and breakdown support when required
- Travelling to sites across the UK, including occasional Channel Islands projects
- Contributing to continuous improvement — identifying better ways of working and sharing ideas
- Undertaking additional duties in line with the seniority of the position
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in platform lift installation — hands-on and able to hit the ground running
- Demonstrated experience leading or supervising an installation team
- NVQ Level 2 Platform Lift Installation or equivalent Lift/Engineering qualification
- CSCS card, PASMA, SSSTS — all required
- Trained in: working at height, manual handling, asbestos awareness
- Experience carrying out safe electrical works
- Full UK driving licence — essential
- Right to work in the UK without restriction
