Lead Technician – Marine Service & Refit Barcelona, Spain We are currently working with a globally recognised luxury yacht manufacturer to recruit an experienced Lead Technician to join their Service & Refit team based in Barcelona.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled marine engineer or technician to join a premium brand supporting high-end sailing yachts up to 30m. The role offers a varied mix of servicing, repairs, refit projects, and technical problem solving within a professional international environment.

The Role Working within the service department, you’ll be involved in a broad range of mechanical and marine engineering activities, supporting vessel maintenance and refit projects to exceptionally high standards.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong technical ability, a proactive mindset, and experience working across multiple onboard systems.

You’ll work closely with owners, captains, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver marine service and repair projects safely and efficiently
  • Carry out servicing and repairs on steering systems, including rudder removal and bearing replacement
  • Complete propulsion system works including shafts, propellers, cutlass bearings, seals, and associated components
  • Support engine room refits, engine replacements, and general marine mechanical servicing
  • Service and replace pumps, seacocks, and onboard plumbing systems
  • Produce accurate technical reports and maintain clear communication throughout projects
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, organisation, and safety
  • Work collaboratively with the wider service and refit team
Candidate Requirements
  • Strong marine engineering experience across mechanical, propulsion, steering, and plumbing systems
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the marine industry
  • Fluent English and Spanish language skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational ability
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work
  • Comfortable managing deadlines and problem solving under pressure
  • High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Positive team-focused attitude
  • EU work authorisation
Desirable Experience
  • Fabrication and machining experience
  • GRP repair knowledge
  • Full driving licence
