Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Primary School, Hackney

Start Date: Immediate  
Hours: Part-time, 12pm–4pm (Fridays 12pm–3pm)
Location: Hackney, London

About the Role

A welcoming primary school in Hackney is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team immediately. This is a part-time afternoon role, ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs in a nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils during the afternoon session
• Assisting class teachers in delivering an inclusive and engaging learning experience
• Supporting pupils’ emotional and behavioural wellbeing
• ⁠Applying de-escalation techniques to manage and resolve challenging situations calmly and effectively

Requirements

• Essential: Training and/or experience in de-escalation techniques
• Previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting
• A patient, compassionate and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

Hours & Pay:

• ⁠Monday–Thursday: 12pm–4pm
• Friday: 12pm–3pm
• Competitive hourly rate depending on experience
