Learning Support Assistant – SEN (Permanent, Full-Time, Immediate Start) The Opportunity

The school supports pupils aged 4 to 18 with a wide range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, communication and interaction needs, and behaviours that can be challenging. Staff are dedicated to delivering personalised learning that supports both academic progress and life skills for the future.

  Role & Responsibilities
  • Provide support to pupils 1:1 and in small groups
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities, including literacy and numeracy
  • Encourage engagement, independence and positive behaviour
  • Support pupils with personal care and physical needs where required
  • Help maintain a safe, structured and engaging learning environment
  • Contribute to tracking pupil progress and individual learning goals
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and wider professionals
  Working Hours & Contract
  • Full-time, permanent role – employed directly by the school
  • Immediate start available
  • Hours: 8.40am to 4.30pm
  • Term-time position with ongoing CPD opportunities
  What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum 6 months childcare experience (essential)
  • Experience supporting children with SEN
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • A patient, resilient and flexible approach
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
