Are you a patient, resilient, and proactive Learning Support Assistant looking to make a genuine difference in a specialist SEN setting?

A highly regarded Specialist SEN School in South Manchester is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their expanding team. This welcoming and well-resourced school supports secondary-aged students with ASC, ADHD, and associated behavioural needs through a personalised and nurturing approach to education.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support students both academically and emotionally, helping them develop confidence, communication skills, and independence outside of mainstream education.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment. You will provide both 1:1 and small group support, promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting students within the classroom and during activities
    * Delivering tailored 1:1 and small group support
    * Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
    * Supporting emotional regulation and communication development
    * Implementing behaviour management strategies
    * Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff

What We're Looking For

  • Experience within education, SEN, care, residential, or support settings
    * Understanding of ASC, ADHD, and behaviour support strategies
    * Strong communication and relationship-building skills
    * Calm, patient, and proactive approach
    * Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    * TA qualification or psychology-related degree desirable
