Legal Cashier

We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Legal Cashier to join our clients busy and supportive conveyancing team based in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong legal accounts experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high standards of accuracy and client service.   You will be working Monday to Friday 9 am to 5.30 pm.

As a Legal Cashier you will support the conveyancing department by ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of legal accounts processes and financial transactions. You will work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely completion of all accounts-related duties.

As a Legal Cashier Key Responsibilities will include:

• Processing and reconciling card payments, transfers, refunds, and financial reports
• Managing bank transfers and processing payments
• Checking completion packs against ledgers and resolving discrepancies
• Handling payment requests, bills, journals, and electronic chits
• Responding to telephone and email enquiries promptly and professionally
• Identifying and correcting reconciliation errors
• Maintaining accurate filing and archiving of accounts documentation
• Producing reports and updating spreadsheets

To be considered for the Legal Cashier you will have:

• Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier within a legal environment
• Working in accordance with Solicitors Accounts Rules
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• The ability to work proactively and manage priorities effectively
• A strong understanding of legal accounts procedures and compliance requirements
