Logistics Coordinator (Days)

Location: Redditch
Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum (depending on experience) + 10% shift allowance
Hours: 44 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (06:00 – 18:00), including weekends
Job Type: Permanent

Training: Monday–Friday, 08:30–17:00 (initial 6–8 week training period)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Logistics Coordinator (Days) to join a fast-paced and time-critical transport operations team within a well-established logistics environment.

This is a key coordination role responsible for managing urgent transport movements across the UK and Europe, ensuring efficient delivery solutions and excellent customer service at all times.

You will work on a structured shift pattern following an initial training period, during which you will work standard weekday office hours to build knowledge of systems, processes, and operations.

This is a fully office-based role and hybrid working is not available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle customer enquiries and orders via phone and email, inputting details into internal systems
  • Book, track, and manage time-sensitive shipments
  • Provide quotations for UK and European transport solutions
  • Deliver high levels of customer service with regular job updates
  • Source and coordinate transport suppliers for appropriate solutions
  • Manage urgent and escalation-based transport requirements
  • Obtain and process key documentation (PODs, purchase orders, references, etc.)
  • Close job files accurately and ensure system records are fully maintained
  • Review routing and supplier options to maximise cost efficiency and profitability
  • Maintain communication with warehouse and operational teams
  • Ensure all jobs are completed and checked prior to invoicing
  • Maintain system accuracy and complete required housekeeping tasks
  • Manage workload priorities to meet strict deadlines
  • Escalate issues where required to ensure timely resolution
  • Support KPI monitoring and reporting

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transport planning, or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of European transport operations (essential)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office, email, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
  • A proactive, “can-do” attitude with strong problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently

Desirable:

  • CPC qualification (advantageous but not essential)
