What you’ll be doing
As a Logistics Porter, you will be based primarily at Nottingham City Hospital (NCH), and you will deliver and maintain equipment efficiently and professionally.
After training, this will include the set-up of specialist products for patients within agreed delivery times, repair and proactive maintenance, and support to customers in various clinical environments.
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Ensuring clean, ready-to-use products are taken to the correct hospital locations
- Collect products after use and return them to the central equipment store
- Complete job records on a handheld PDA device
- Install products into designated locations
- Provide product demonstrations and training
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
- Attend team briefs before and after shifts with the team
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday. (Tues – Thurs, alternating 8am – 3.30pm/10.30am – 6pm and Friday & Saturday 8am – 6pm)
You will also be required to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota (once trained) to support the team and the customer. This is subject to an on-call payment and additional payment for hours worked.

What you’ll need
- Full, valid UK driving licence (training provided for long-wheelbase vans)
- Mechanical or electrical interest is helpful but not essential
- Basic understanding of hygiene and safety is beneficial
- Friendly, proactive attitude
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to complete a DBS check
