Meridian Business Support are seeking a proactive and organised Logistics Support Co-ordinator to support the smooth operation of our clients Distribution Centre based in Stafford.

Role Overview
You will support the day-to-day running of the distribution centre, helping to supervise the team, maintain high standards, and ensure all operational targets are met. You’ll play an important role in supporting health & safety compliance, training, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
  • Ensure orders are processed efficiently and that the delivery of materials meets customers timescales/requirements.
  • Supervise and control order picking, goods in, goods out operations to ensure accuracy with minimum handling and stock damage.
  • Organise, facilitate, and manage stock takes at regular intervals.
  • Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements.
  • Deliver the product to the customer on time, every time using appropriate methods.
  • Ensure that internal delivery processes are adhered to support dispatch time windows.
  • Identify errors and eliminate root cause using robust countermeasures.
  • Sustain the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues.
  • Deliver efficiency's to support year on year operational budget reduction.
  • Monitor and review operational methods to facilitate both qualitative and quantitative improvements within the operation whilst ensuring continuous customer service.
  • Control of Forklift Truck management to ensure full operational capacity and achieve daily targets.
  • Oversee any planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
  • Ensure security of Warehouse environment and maintain access control, ensuring 5S housekeeping standards are always maintained.
  • Monitor and maintain stock accuracy by ensuring the physical stock is in line with the warehouse management system and ensure all stock movements are recorded to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor stock levels to highlight minimum and excess levels and therefore prevent part shortages.
Measurement of Effectiveness
  • Assist in building a strong team culture and philosophy, working collaboratively to achieve company targets and objectives.
  • Support the warehouse supervisor and team with any day to day warehouse duties.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of customer deliverys and the impact of service failure or poor quality.
  • Apply strong analytic and problem solving skills to develop practical and effective solutions.

  • Competent IT skills with good numerical ability, using word, excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Teams. 
  • Able to multitask effectively
  • Able to perform well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Hours of work and salary details:
Monday - Thursday 9.30am - 3.30pm, Friday 9.30am - 1pm. 
£14.50 - £15.00 per hour DOE
