Role Overview
You will support the day-to-day running of the distribution centre, helping to supervise the team, maintain high standards, and ensure all operational targets are met. You’ll play an important role in supporting health & safety compliance, training, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
- Ensure orders are processed efficiently and that the delivery of materials meets customers timescales/requirements.
- Supervise and control order picking, goods in, goods out operations to ensure accuracy with minimum handling and stock damage.
- Organise, facilitate, and manage stock takes at regular intervals.
- Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements.
- Deliver the product to the customer on time, every time using appropriate methods.
- Ensure that internal delivery processes are adhered to support dispatch time windows.
- Identify errors and eliminate root cause using robust countermeasures.
- Sustain the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues.
- Deliver efficiency's to support year on year operational budget reduction.
- Monitor and review operational methods to facilitate both qualitative and quantitative improvements within the operation whilst ensuring continuous customer service.
- Control of Forklift Truck management to ensure full operational capacity and achieve daily targets.
- Oversee any planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Ensure security of Warehouse environment and maintain access control, ensuring 5S housekeeping standards are always maintained.
- Monitor and maintain stock accuracy by ensuring the physical stock is in line with the warehouse management system and ensure all stock movements are recorded to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor stock levels to highlight minimum and excess levels and therefore prevent part shortages.
- Assist in building a strong team culture and philosophy, working collaboratively to achieve company targets and objectives.
- Support the warehouse supervisor and team with any day to day warehouse duties.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of customer deliverys and the impact of service failure or poor quality.
- Apply strong analytic and problem solving skills to develop practical and effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills
- Competent IT skills with good numerical ability, using word, excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Teams.
- Able to multitask effectively
- Able to perform well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
Hours of work and salary details:
Monday - Thursday 9.30am - 3.30pm, Friday 9.30am - 1pm.
£14.50 - £15.00 per hour DOE
