Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Mainstream Secondary

Are you the kind of person who can spot when a student needs a quiet word, a confidence boost, or just someone who believes in them?

A welcoming and well-established mainstream secondary school in Chelmsford is looking for a strong, enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their Inclusion Team this September.

This is a role where you won't just be "supporting in class" - you'll be helping young people remove barriers, build confidence, and actually believe they can succeed.

As an LSA, you will:

  • Support students with SEN, SEMH and additional learning needs in mainstream classrooms
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils access learning and stay engaged
  • Adapt resources and approaches to meet individual needs
  • Support behaviour for learning in a calm, consistent and positive way
  • Work closely with teachers and the SEN/Inclusion team
  • Help students build confidence, independence and resilience
  • Be a key adult students trust and can rely on during the school dayWhat We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

  • Can build strong relationships quickly with young people
  • Has a good sense of humour (essential for school life!)
  • Can stay positive even when things are challenging
  • Understands or has experience of SEN/SEMH (desirable but not essential)
