A growing and well-established M&E contractor is looking to appoint an experienced M&E Buyer to support the delivery of commercial, residential and fit out projects across London and the South East.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy and expanding business with a strong pipeline of secured work, working alongside experienced project delivery and commercial teams on projects ranging from £1m - £20m+.

The Role

As M&E Buyer, you will be responsible for the procurement of mechanical and electrical materials, plant and subcontract packages across multiple projects. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and with strong supplier relationships maintained throughout.

Key Responsibilities

• Procurement of mechanical & electrical materials and equipment
• Managing supplier relationships and negotiating best value
• Obtaining and analysing quotations from suppliers
• Raising purchase orders and tracking deliveries
• Working closely with project managers and commercial teams
• Monitoring material costs and market trends
• Ensuring procurement schedules align with project programmes
• Managing subcontractor and supplier accounts where required
• Supporting the wider commercial and operational teams

Requirements

• Previous experience working as an M&E Buyer within the building services industry
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical materials
• Experience working for an M&E contractor or building services company
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Commercial awareness and strong organisational skills
• Proficient with procurement systems and Microsoft Office
