Key Responsibilities
• Managing and supervising M&E installation works, coordinating mechanical and electrical packages across subcontractors and ensuring interfaces between disciplines are clearly defined and controlled
• Overall site management of HVDC construction and/or commissioning activities, including coordination of multi-disciplinary subcontractor packages
• Enforcing and maintaining a strong safety culture across all site personnel, conducting toolbox talks, site inductions, and regular safety inspections
• Managing site programmes and lookahead schedules, reporting progress to the project and client teams
• Liaising with client representatives, design teams, and third-party stakeholders
• Overseeing working at height activities, ensuring appropriate permits, rescue plans, and equipment inspections are in place
• Managing manual handling risks in line with site risk assessments and method statements
• Coordinating site logistics, including deliveries, plant management, and laydown areas
• Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, environmental controls, and relevant IEC/BS standards
• Maintaining accurate site records, daily diaries, RAMS sign-off, and associated documentation
• Supporting commissioning phases where required, working alongside HVDC systems engineers
Requirements
• Proven track record in heavy M&E site management on large-scale electrical infrastructure projects — HV substation, converter station, switchgear installation, cable containment, or similar M&E-intensive schemes
• Direct HVDC project experience alongside a grounding in broader M&E delivery — candidates from a purely civil background will not be considered

• SMSTS — Site Management Safety Training Scheme
• First Aid at Work (FAW)
• Manual Handling certification
• Working at Height certification
• Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and principal contractor/site manager duties

• Familiarity with Persons Authorisation or AP/CP regimes for HV environments
• Previous work alongside OEM teams on converter station projects
