Machine Operator

Looking for a hands-on role where no two days are the same? We're recruiting a Multiskilled Relief Machine Operator to join a busy, well-established operation in North Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and working as part of a supportive team.

About the Role

This is a dynamic, full-time position where you'll play a key role in keeping site operations running smoothly. You'll provide essential cover across the team, stepping into different duties and operating a range of machinery. What You'll Be Doing

• Operating loading shovels, forklift trucks, and material handlers (12-ton and 20-ton)
• Carrying out daily machine checks and reporting any defects
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures
• Supporting general site operations as needed
• Providing cover during holidays and absences across the team

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 17:30 (45 hours per week)
• Optional overtime available - up to 20 hours per week

What We're Looking For

• Experience operating plant machinery (loading shovels, forklifts, material handlers)
• Relevant tickets/certifications are an advantage, but not essential
• Strong awareness of health & safety practices
• Flexible, reliable, and willing to take on a variety of tasks
• A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
