Job Purpose

The ideal candidate will be responsible for working on / around semi-automated and manual machines, which follows a progressively growing production schedule. The individual will oversee and support the Operations Director with all aspects of the machining department including production scheduling and programming support as well as liaising with sales on customer quotes and lead times.

The ideal candidate will process all elements of finished and raw material stock levels and forecasts. The individual is required to have previous knowledge, experience and relevant qualifications for the role including understanding in using metal components, measuring equipment, hand tools and automotive mechanisms.

An engineering understanding of how an automotive clutch performs and prior knowledge/qualifications in CAD / CAM software is expected.

Typical Activities

  • Machining cast iron pressure plates on the XYZ SLX 425
  • Production scheduling for Unit 1G
  • Staff liaison and day-to-day coordination
  • Finished stock management for Unit 1G
  • Supporting sales with quotations and production lead times
  • Order fulfilment
  • Material stock control and ordering for Unit 1G
  • Machine programming support within Unit 1G

Context

Successful candidates will have clear communication, empathy, and strong organisational and conflict resolution skills. The candidate will ideally have previous supervisor role experience alongside an understanding of creating quotes, sending emails and customer service skills.

It is important the individual can conduct professional and reliable work, in a safe environment as well as ensuring risk assessments and health and safety practices are met.
