Are you a skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity in the manufacturing sector? Our client, a well-established and progressive manufacturing business located in Gateshead, is on the lookout for a talented Maintenance Technician to support their production operations. Salary: £45,000-£46,000
Shifts: 2 Shift (5 days, 4 nights)
What You'll Do:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance: Carry out PPM across various site machinery to keep everything running smoothly.
- Responsive Repairs: Quickly diagnose and resolve breakdowns, minimising downtime and keeping production on track.
- Mechanical & Electrical Repairs: Perform repairs on production equipment, utilising your expertise in either mechanical or electrical systems.
- Support Installation & Upgrades: Assist in the installation, commissioning, and upgrades of plant machinery.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation for all tasks.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to ensure efficient operations and minimise disruptions.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to root cause analysis and ongoing improvement initiatives.
Who We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- A mechanical or electrical bias (being multi-skilled is a plus!).
- Familiarity with PPM systems and reactive maintenance.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility in working shifts as required.
Qualifications:
- Apprenticeship or Level 3 Engineering qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Additional qualifications such as HNC/HND are advantageous but not essential.
