Shift Pattern - 4 on 4 off, Days and Nights

Henderson Brown is delighted to be partnering with a FMCG manufacturer who are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Boston. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment, playing a key role in ensuring the continued efficiency and reliability of production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, and complete repairs on production machinery, utilities, and packing systems to reduce downtime.
  • Deliver planned maintenance activities, system upgrades, installations, and mechanical/electrical modifications across diverse plant and facility equipment.
  • Record all maintenance work accurately within CMMS systems, ensuring full compliance with safety, hygiene, and food production standards.
  • Contribute to engineering projects, equipment improvements, commissioning activities, and technical upgrades to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with production teams, engineers, suppliers, and contractors while supporting effective shift handovers and continuous 24/7 site operations.
  • Promote ongoing improvement initiatives, share knowledge, undertake training, and maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and equipment performance.

Requirements

  • Recognised engineering qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or HNC in mechanical or electrical engineering discipline.
  • Experience in a similar role, such as (maintenance technician, mechanical maintenance engineer, engineering technician, electrical maintenance engineer or shift technician)
  • Strong analytical fault-finding ability with a structured, logical approach to diagnosing issues and implementing reliable long-term solutions.
  • Comfortable working under pressure in demanding environments while prioritising tasks effectively and consistently delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, planning, organisation, and decision-making skills with a proactive approach to continuous self-improvement and development.
