An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Technician to join a busy and fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering multi-skilled maintenance support to ensure the efficient operation of plant and equipment, minimising downtime and maintaining high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment
- Provide reactive maintenance support, including rapid response to breakdowns
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance to optimise equipment reliability
- Repair or replace faulty components and assemblies
- Perform routine servicing of plant equipment including motors, valves, and systems
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and improvement of equipment
- Monitor plant performance and identify potential faults or inefficiencies
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics to support troubleshooting
- Carry out welding and fabrication tasks as required
- Maintain maintenance records and manage spare parts inventory
- Ensure all work is completed in line with site Health & Safety procedures, permits, and risk assessments
- Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role (mechanical and electrical)
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
- Welding/fabrication experience
- Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proactive approach with strong attention to detail
- Basic IT skills
- Flexible attitude to working hours, including occasional weekends
- Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
- Full adherence to safe systems of work and PPE requirements
- Previous experience supervising maintenance activities
