We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Luton. This is a hands-on, all-round maintenance role suited to someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in keeping a site running smoothly. You'll be involved in day-to-day reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance, and general upkeep of plant, equipment and facilities.

This is a great opportunity for someone with broad practical skills who thrives in a busy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out day-to-day maintenance and repairs across plant, machinery and site facilities
  • Respond to breakdowns and fault-find to get equipment back up and running with minimal downtime
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to keep equipment in good working order
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment when required
  • Support minor project and improvement work as directed
  • Keep basic maintenance records and logs up to date
  • Carry out work in line with health and safety procedures at all times

  • Practical, hands-on approach with good all-round maintenance skills
  • Ability to fault-find and problem-solve on a variety of equipment
  • Good communication skills and a reliable, flexible attitude
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Experience with planned preventative maintenance
  • Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical systems
  • Basic understanding of health and safety practices in a manufacturing setting

What We're Looking For

You don't need to be a fully qualified engineer - what matters most is that you're practical, willing to get stuck in, and have a solid foundation of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting. If you're someone who can turn their hand to most things and takes pride in doing a job properly, we'd love to hear from you.

This vacancy is being managed by a recruitment agency on behalf of the employer. The client's name will be disclosed to shortlisted candidates.
