Location: London, both at the office in SW, and on-site (predominantly inner London but potentially anywhere in London or the Home Counties) A full UK driving licence is required.
Working hours: 08:00 – 16:30, Monday- Friday.

Due to continued growth within our aftercare and client care division, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Team Leader to oversee a portfolio of predominantly Central London projects.
The Role
The Maintenance Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a portfolio of high-end private residential gardens, ensuring each project is maintained to the company’s exacting standards.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role requiring strong horticultural knowledge, leadership skills, and excellent organisation. You will lead and support the in-house maintenance team while coordinating specialist subcontractors where required.
You will also play a key role in fostering a positive and professional working environment, maintaining excellent communication with both clients and colleagues, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the maintenance division.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the in-house maintenance team (currently 4 staff), including scheduling and workload planning
- Oversee the maintenance and presentation of luxury private residential gardens to exceptional standards
- Act as the primary client contact during maintenance visits and project reviews
- Manage client correspondence, including emails, queries, and ongoing client care
- Coordinate and supervise specialist subcontractors as required
- Produce monthly client reports and maintain accurate records of garden progress and maintenance activities
- Provide technical and horticultural support to the maintenance team on site. The maintenance team will look to you for knowledge and guidance on horticultural matters.
- Support the design team in developing garden schemes through to technical stage
- Develop additional planting works, including sourcing plants and preparing planting plans
- Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with the company’s quality standards
- Drive company vehicles, including vans, where required
Skills & Experience The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of 5–7 years’ experience maintaining private gardens within the luxury residential sector
- At least 3–5 years’ experience in a supervisory or team leader role
- Strong technical horticultural knowledge, supported by relevant qualifications
- A good understanding of garden pests and diseases, including practical treatment applications
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- The ability to remain calm and efficient within a fast-paced and demanding environment
- PA1 and PA6 certifications desirable
- Relevant horticultural certifications required
- A proactive and professional approach to client service
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to drive company vans
