A leading manufacturing business is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join its growing engineering team. Following a sustained period of success, increased customer demand, and continued investment across its operations, the company is enjoying a significant growth phase and is looking to strengthen its maintenance function to support future expansion.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of manufacturing equipment, helping to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency. Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance activities across a range of production machinery and site services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across manufacturing equipment.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete effective fault finding to minimise downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and engineering projects.
  • Ensure maintenance records are accurately completed and maintained.
  • Work closely with production teams to support operational targets and business objectives.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and quality procedures.

About You:

The successful Maintenance Technician will have previous experience working within a manufacturing, production, FMCG, packaging, food, pharmaceutical, or similar industrial environment. You will be a proactive engineer with strong fault-finding abilities and a desire to contribute towards continuous improvement activities.

  • Experience working as a Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Technician, or similar.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills.
  • Good understanding of preventative and reactive maintenance principles.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Positive attitude with a proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation, Maintenance Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
