Are you an experienced Major Works Supervisor with a strong background in social housing refurbishment and planned maintenance projects?

Our client, a leading social housing contractor, is looking to appoint a Major Works Supervisor to oversee a portfolio of planned works projects across North London and the surrounding Home Counties. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity offering long-term career prospects with a well-established and growing organisation.

The Role

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of major works programmes, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Projects may include:

  • External and internal refurbishment works
  • Roofing replacements and repairs
  • Window and door installations
  • Kitchen and bathroom programmes
  • Decarbonisation and energy efficiency upgrades
  • Cyclical decoration and planned maintenance works

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and supervising subcontractors and direct labour on site
  • Conducting site inspections and quality control checks
  • Monitoring programme delivery and productivity
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Liaising with residents, client representatives, and stakeholders
  • Producing site reports and progress updates
  • Resolving on-site issues efficiently and professionally
  • Supporting successful project delivery from start to completion

Requirements

  • Previous experience supervising major works or planned maintenance projects within social housing
  • Strong understanding of refurbishment and construction processes
  • Excellent communication and resident liaison skills
  • Ability to manage multiple sites across a geographical patch
  • Good knowledge of health and safety legislation
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • SSSTS/SMSTS and First Aid qualifications desirable
