Management Accountant

An AAT Level 4 qualified Management Accountant is required for a 12‑month maternity cover role. You will support the Financial Controller and senior finance team, producing accurate management information and ensuring effective financial processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Weekly reporting including sales data, KPI packs and performance metrics using advanced Excel.
• Period‑end accounts including journals, accruals, repayments, cost analysis and commentary.
• Departmental spend analysis with clear explanations of variances against budget.
• Balance sheet reconciliations including payroll control accounts and weekly payroll journals.
• Audit support assisting with year‑end requirements.
• Fixed asset register maintenance including capex review and depreciation.
• VAT returns preparation and reconciliation of control accounts.
• Financial pack preparation including intercompany postings and final reporting.
• General finance support including payroll cover and ad‑hoc duties.

Requirements

• AAT Level 4 qualification
• Previous management accounts experience
• Strong Excel and accounting systems skills
• Clear communication and ability to build strong working relationships
• Proactive approach with strong problem‑solving ability
• Reliable, organised and detail‑focused
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
