Management Accountant

We’re working with a well-established, fast-paced business in East Hertfordshire who are looking to bring in a strong Management Accountant to join their finance team.
This is a broad, hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of the monthly management accounts process while partnering closely with the Financial Controller and wider business. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting into the detail but also wants visibility across the wider operation.


The role
You’ll be responsible for producing accurate and timely financial information, supporting decision-making across the business. Key duties include:
  • Production of monthly management accounts and group reporting
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring strong financial controls
  • Cost and margin analysis across key areas of the business
  • Investigating variances and providing meaningful insight into performance
  • Supporting budgeting and reforecasting processes
  • Preparation of VAT returns and support with statutory accounts and audit
  • Cash flow forecasting and working capital analysis
  • Ensuring intercompany balances are fully reconciled
  • Supporting continuous improvement of processes and reporting
You’ll also work closely with non-finance stakeholders, so the ability to communicate clearly and add commercial value is key.

About you
We’re looking for someone who is:
  • Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
  • Experienced in producing full management accounts
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Strong on reconciliations, controls and month-end processes
  • Analytical, with the ability to turn data into insight
  • Proactive, organised and confident working to deadlines
  • A good communicator who can work across the business
  • Previous exposure to audit, statutory reporting and strong Excel skills would be an advantage.
