Manual Machinist (Late Shift) – Aerospace
Fareham
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 2pm–12am (38 hours/week, 4 days)
Salary: Up to £38,000
Join a small, friendly aerospace engineering team producing a wide variety of metallic components (mainly stainless steel) for high-precision, compliance-driven environments.
This is a newly created late shift within a busy manual machining department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manual machining (lathes, mills, polishing machines) of aerospace components and tooling
- Set up, operate and maintain manual lathes and milling machines independently
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and follow work instructions
- Maintain accurate production and traceability records
- Follow strict documentation processes (root cards, batch tracking, etc.)
- Contribute to a positive team culture in a small, close-knit environment
About You:
- Completed an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent, ideally in toolmaking/manual machining
- Proven experience in manual lathes and milling machining, (Colchester / Harrison lathes)
- Hands-on toolmaking experience within a toolroom environment
- Experience in aerospace, high-precision or compliance-led sectors is an advantage
- Comfortable with late shift work and able to commute reliably (driving license required)
- Able to read technical drawings and use measuring equipment
- Basic problem solving and self-sufficiency
- Friendly, reliable, enthusiastic and people-focused
- Eligible to work in the UK, BPSS security and ITAR checks apply
