We are recruiting for a skilled Master Technician to join a leading fleet engineering operation, maintaining a modern fleet of passenger service vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities who enjoys solving complex technical issues and supporting workshop performance.
Candidates from either a PSV, Bus, Coach, HGV, Truck or Commercial Vehicle background are encouraged to apply.
The Role of the Master Technician
As a Master Technician, you will act as a technical specialist within the workshop, supporting the maintenance and reliability of the fleet while assisting colleagues with complex repairs and diagnostics.
Key responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and rectifying complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
- Carrying out servicing, inspections and repairs to the highest standards.
- Supporting vehicle reliability and fleet availability targets.
- Assisting technicians with technical guidance and fault diagnosis.
- Using diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle defects.
- Conducting vehicle inspections and ensuring compliance with DVSA standards.
- Supporting MOT and annual test preparation activities.
- Completing maintenance records and workshop documentation accurately.
- Promoting safe working practices and engineering excellence throughout the workshop.
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, PSV, HGV or equivalent.
- Proven experience working on buses, coaches, HGVs, trucks or commercial vehicles.
- Advanced fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Strong understanding of vehicle electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
- Experience using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to mentor and support other technicians where required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
