Head of Mathematics – Independent School | Milton Keynes

Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000 – £47,511 (dependent on experience)
An independent school in Milton Keynes is looking to appoint a Head of Mathematics to lead a well-established department from September 2026.

The Role
- Lead and develop the Mathematics department
- Drive high-quality teaching and learning across KS3–KS4
- Plan and implement an engaging and rigorous curriculum
- Monitor progress and implement effective intervention strategies
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations, including mock assessments
- Line manage staff and support professional development
- Contribute to whole-school improvement and academic standards

The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
- Experience teaching across KS3–KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Previous leadership experience or readiness to step up
- A track record of strong student outcomes
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
