Mechanical Assembly / Test Technician

A Mechanical / Hydraulics Engineering Technician is needed for a 3-month temporary contract in Hexham

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Mechanical Fitter with a good awareness of Hydraulics, Electrical and Control Systems (data acquisition set up). You will mainly assembling test rigs and performing test validation sequences to company and industry procedures, working as a pair with a test engineer. The role is 5 days per week on site in Hexham, 8.00 - 4.00 (potential early finish Friday at 2.00.) 37.5 hrs per week.

You will need the following experience: -

• Substantial experience as a Mechanical Technician / Fitter (8-10 years ideally)
• Experience of working in a project based manufacturing / engineering environment
• Able to work to engineering drawings and client specifications
• Experience of working on bespoke equipment
• It would be beneficial but not essential to have Forklift and overhead crane (and slinging) tickets, trades such as welding etc not needed.
• DBS checks will be carried out on the successful candidate

This is a varied role working on specialist engineering projects. The contract will be for 3 months and is inside IR-35. Hourly rate is £20-25 p/h depending on qualifications and experience
