- Varied opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer within a fantastic manufacturer.

Design a range of special purpose machinery / material handling equipment and other components used primarily within the food and beverage sector.
- Chance to work on multiple projects at any given point. The design team work closely with production that is onsite.
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who is used to working closely with production for the design of special purpose machinery. Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor CAD package is ideal, but we can look at Solidworks too. Any prior experience designing material handling machinery / conveyor based equipment would be useful, but general fabrication design may also be considered.
Salary & Package: c£55,000 - £60,000 per annum basic.
Hours: 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday. 7:00am to 12:00pm Fri.
This Mechanical Design Engineer job will suit:

An understanding of special purpose machinery, material handling equipment or conveyors would be an advantage for this role.

Specific experience within the food and beverage sector would be very relevant.
- Qualified to HND/degree level or equivalent in mechanical engineering

Specific Inventor CAD package would be an advantage.

Extensive knowledge of metal fabrication processes

Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively

The Mechanical Design Engineer job will involve:

Using Inventor software to design bespoke machinery, components, and systems.
- Working closely with the manufacturing team on site to identify requirements and how production techniques may impact design.
- Compiling associated reports upon completion.
- Problem solving to find design solutions.

Managing several design projects at any point. Managing customer expectations along the way.

Ordering of materials for job packs (laser/folded parts and raw materials)

Occasional site surveys for line layouts and design detail.
