Connect Appointments is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join an established food production business based in Freuchie (near Glenrothes) on a full-time permanent basis.

Our client operates a busy food processing facility in Fife, offering a competitive salary, a 4-on 4-off continental shift pattern and a clear commitment to safety and professional development.

• 4-on 4-off continental shift pattern of days and nights:
  • Days: 6am to 6pm
  • Nights: 6pm to 6am
• £47,288.80 per annum

As a Mechanical Engineer, your duties will include:

• Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, machinery and production lines
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults to minimise downtime
• Maintaining conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics and other mechanical components
• Supporting the installation and commissioning of new and upgraded equipment
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and collaborating with production and electrical teams to improve equipment reliability

To be considered as a Mechanical Engineer, you will need:

• SVQ3 and HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Proven experience in an industrial or food processing environment
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics and industrial machinery
• Experience with preventive maintenance programmes and CMMS
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP or similar food safety systems
