Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: London WC1B
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday  8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a large on-site engineering team. This is a client-facing role suited to a well-rounded and established engineer with strong mechanical expertise and a proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.

You will be part of a team of 8- 10 engineers, contributing to the upkeep and smooth operation of a government buliding. 

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building systems
• Maintain and repair pumps, motors, and associated mechanical equipment
• Service and maintain HVAC systems, including AHUs
• Undertake plumbing maintenance and repairs
• Support maintenance of fire alarm systems and boilers
• Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions
• Liaise directly with the client, ensuring high standards of service delivery
• Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and site procedures
• Maintain accurate records of work completed

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a commercial or critical environment
• Strong all-round mechanical skillset (pumps, motors, HVAC, plumbing, boilers, etc.)
• Experience with AHUs and general building services systems
• Client-facing experience with strong communication skills
• Relevant qualifications: City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Ability to work independently and as part of a large team

Package & Benefits

• Salary between £42,000 – £44,000 per annum
