Mechanical Engineering Lecturer

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Engineering Lecturer to work in a full-time permanent opportunity based in Newcastle. This role is suited to either an experienced lecturer or a strong industry professional looking to transition into education, with support available for candidates who do not yet hold a teaching qualification.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, practical and theory-based teaching across Mechanical Engineering programmes.
• Support learners on Level 2 and Level 3 provision, apprenticeships, and potentially HE programmes where appropriate.
• Plan and prepare inclusive, effective lessons and learning activities.
• Assess learner work, monitor progress, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Promote safe working practices within workshop and classroom environments.
• Create a positive, professional and supportive learning environment.
• Contribute to learner achievement, retention and progression.

Essential

• Strong industry experience within Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Ability to engage and support learners across a range of levels.
• Strong communication, organisational and practical skills.
• HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Teaching qualification, although this is not essential and support can be provided.
• Experience delivering engineering education, training, mentoring or apprenticeship support.
