Mechanical Inspector

Contract Type: Initial 6-month contract, with potential extension
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 16:00
Pay Rate: Up to £18.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join their quality team on an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This role focuses on the inspection and measurement of medium to high-complexity component piece parts within a precision engineering environment.

The position is ideally suited to inspectors with experience in a sub-contract manufacturing environment, where a diverse range of components and tight tolerances are common.

• Inspect medium to high-complexity mechanical component piece parts
• Carry out dimensional inspection to engineering drawings and specifications
• Use manual inspection equipment including vernier calipers and other measuring instruments
• Conduct a small amount of CMM inspection where required
• Ensure all inspected components meet quality and customer requirements
• Accurately record inspection results and report non-conformances

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Inspector, ideally within a sub-contract manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
• Confident using manual inspection equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
• Some exposure to CMM inspection preferred
• High attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
• Ability to work independently and to deadlines
