Mechanical Maintenance Fitter/Engineer
Double Days (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm)
A well-established manufacturing business is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer / Fitter to join its on-site engineering team. This is a great opportunity to join a stable company operating within a busy production environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment, reducing downtime, and supporting the smooth running of production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend machinery breakdowns and carry out repairs
- Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks
- Fault find on mechanical systems and production equipment
- Repair and refurbish components when required
- Support improvement projects and equipment upgrades
- Maintain accurate maintenance records
- Assist with production changeovers and machine set-up
- Ensure health & safety standards are followed at all times
Requirements
- Mechanical engineering qualification or time-served apprenticeship
- Previous maintenance experience within manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with motors, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics or pneumatics
- Welding or fabrication skills beneficial
- Basic electrical knowledge advantageous
