Mechanical Maintenance Fitter/Engineer

Double Days (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm)

A well-established manufacturing business is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer / Fitter to join its on-site engineering team. This is a great opportunity to join a stable company operating within a busy production environment.



The Role

You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment, reducing downtime, and supporting the smooth running of production operations.



Key Responsibilities

  • Attend machinery breakdowns and carry out repairs
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks
  • Fault find on mechanical systems and production equipment
  • Repair and refurbish components when required
  • Support improvement projects and equipment upgrades
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records
  • Assist with production changeovers and machine set-up
  • Ensure health & safety standards are followed at all times


Requirements

  • Mechanical engineering qualification or time-served apprenticeship
  • Previous maintenance experience within manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with motors, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics or pneumatics
  • Welding or fabrication skills beneficial
  • Basic electrical knowledge advantageous
