Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - DAYS ONLY

Reed Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing company.

We are recruiting a Mechanically Biased Maintenance Engineer for a days‑only role within a heavy industrial / steel manufacturing environment.

The Role

• Planned preventative maintenance and mechanical fault‑finding
• Maintenance of gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, furnaces and cranes etc
• Support breakdowns, reliability improvements, and asset performance
• Supervise contractors and ensure safe working practices
• Log work via CMMS etc
• Work to LOLER, PUWER, and site safety standards

About You

• Mechanical engineering qualification or time‑served apprenticeship
• Experience in steel, heavy manufacturing or Aerospace, Automotive, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Defence, Glass, Aggregates etc or other manufacturing may be considered
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding skills
• Safety‑focused with good communication skills
