Client: Our client is a specialised London-based M&E contractor operating across a range of major projects & sectors from commercial, education, government and refurbishment sectors and partner with clients such as Mace, Parker Ray & more. With experience on projects ranging from £100,000 to £15 million, they provide a full range of building services and turnover around £40m. Established for over 3 years, they have gone through exceptional growth and looking to continue that growth forward by expanding their operation team with a Mechanical Project Engineer.
Role: Mechanical Project Engineer - Central London - £350- £400 per day (will also consider permanent salaries)
The project is a commercial office refurbishment circa £7m mechanical value. The success candidate will support the Project Manager during the preconstruction period and help delivery the project through to handover.
Responsibilities:
- Read, understand and scrutinise Specifications
- Assist with management of design stage
- Procurement of sub-contractors, kit and plant
- Investigate Value Engineering
- Assist with preparation of Contract Documents I.e. Method Statements, Risk Assessments, RFI’s, etc.
- Coordination and management of direct labor
- Instruct and coordinate site managers
- Progress reporting
- Overseeing commissioning and testing
- Working with Quantity Surveyor on Commercial Accounts
- Preparation of OMs for final project handover
The ideal candidate:
- Experience delivering commercial projects
- Experience managing projects to a minimum of £3m Mechanical value
- A minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role
- Must be technically astute and a good people manager
