They operate across a range of technically demanding sectors including life sciences, commercial, education, and healthcare, delivering projects to consistently high standards.

 

The Opportunity

My client is currently seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to join their delivery team. This is a site‑based role responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of mechanical works, ensuring delivery is safe, on programme, and meets the required quality and compliance standards.

The role is heavily focused on workface delivery, effective coordination of labour and subcontractors, and supporting the wider project team to ensure successful project execution.

  Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily mechanical site activities, allocating labour and resources in line with the project programme
  • Monitor site progress, identifying delays, risks, or issues and reporting these to the Project Manager as required
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and the internal procurement team to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials and equipment
  • Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality across site operations in line with company systems and site requirements
  • Provide accurate progress updates to the project team and contribute to progress and cost review meetings
  • Assist with subcontractor cost control, including valuations and authorisation of payments in line with agreed processes
  Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • Proven experience supervising mechanical works on construction or building services projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical installations and site coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and schedules
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A demonstrable commitment to health, safety, and quality standards

Desirable:

  • Time‑served mechanical trade background
  • Experience working within regulated or technically complex sectors such as healthcare, education, life sciences, or commercial environments
  • SSSTS, SMSTS, or equivalent site safety qualification
