Mechanical Technician (O&M) – Energy Plant

Location: Slough
Salary: c.£46,000 + £2,500 Call-Out Allowance
Full-Time | 24/7 Plant Environment

We’re supporting a leading international energy & infrastructure operator in the search for a Mechanical Technician to join their Operations & Maintenance team at a modern Energy facility in Slough.

This is a hands-on role working within a highly technical plant environment, supporting the safe and efficient operation of the site.

The Role

• Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and fault finding across plant systems
• Work on equipment including gearboxes, conveyors, steam systems, valves, rotating equipment, and hydraulics
• Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to maintain plant performance
• Support planned and reactive maintenance activities in line with production targets
• Contribute to risk assessments and safe systems of work
• Provide guidance and direction to junior team members where required
• Participate in HSE inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship (HNC/HND desirable)
• Experience in a heavy process / industrial environment (e.g. power, waste, manufacturing, oil & gas)
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and plant equipment
• Experience with fault finding and maintenance planning
• IOSH Managing Safely (or similar) preferred
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to safety
