MEICA & Commissioning Manager
Location: UK (Thames Water Framework)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced MEICA & Commissioning Manager to lead the delivery of complex water and wastewater projects. Working within the Thames Water framework, you will be responsible for managing the full MEICA and commissioning lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning and delivery of MEICA and commissioning activities across the full project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with designers, site teams, subcontractors and client stakeholders to ensure effective execution.
- Manage interfaces, outages, risks and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, British Standards and WIMES requirements.
- Drive best practice in health, safety, environmental and construction performance.
- Oversee commissioning processes including RAMS, quality plans, ITPs and handover documentation (O&M manuals, ACD folders).
- Lead stakeholder meetings, workshops and site reviews, providing technical guidance and reporting outcomes.
- Identify and manage risks and opportunities, maintaining project registers.
- Ensure delivery aligns with framework expectations and client standards.
- Support audits and undertake LV Authorised Person duties where required.
About You
- 10+ years’ experience in MEICA design, delivery and commissioning within the water/wastewater sector.
- Proven track record delivering complex projects from design through to handover.
- Experience working with main contractors on large infrastructure or process engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of commissioning processes including ECI, design reviews, RAMS and quality documentation.
- Previous experience as an Electrical or Mechanical Authorised Person.
- Relevant engineering qualification (HNC, apprenticeship or equivalent).
- Valid CSCS/ECS card, SMSTS and First Aid certification.
- Strong understanding of industry standards, safety regulations and statutory legislation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Professional membership (or working towards) with Institution of Engineering and Technology, Institution of Mechanical Engineers or Society of Operations Engineers (EngTech/IEng/CEng desirable).
- Valid Blue Water Hygiene Card and Thames Water Passport.
