A supportive and inclusive school in Wokingham is seeking a Mental Health Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers and thrive both academically and emotionally.

In this role, the Mental Health Assistant will provide support to pupils who may be experiencing social, emotional, and mental health challenges. The successful Mental Health Assistant will work closely with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them build resilience, confidence, and positive coping strategies.

As a Mental Health Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
  * Help students develop emotional regulation and coping strategies
  * Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils
  * Deliver targeted interventions and wellbeing support
  * Encourage engagement with learning and school activities
  * Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals

The school is looking for a caring and proactive Mental Health Assistant who can remain calm, supportive, and consistent when working with young people. Experience within education, youth work, care, mentoring, or support work would be advantageous.
