About the Role:
Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Mental Health Support Worker to work in a specialist SEMH school in Corby. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
• Build strong, positive relationships to support emotional wellbeing and engagement
• Assist in managing challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques
• Support the implementation of individual behaviour and support plans
• Work closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals to create a safe learning environment
• Encourage positive social interactions and emotional development
• Monitor and report on student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural, or mental health needs
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to different situations and respond to challenging behaviour
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience in a school, PRU, or alternative provision
• Relevant qualifications in mental health, youth work, or education
• Training in behaviour management (e.g. Team Teach)
