Prospero Teaching is delighted to be supporting a warm, inclusive specialist SEND school in Southampton in their search for a dedicated MFL Teacher (Spanish) to join their team on a maternity‑cover basis. The school provides a nurturing, structured environment for pupils with ASC and associated needs, ensuring every learner receives personalised support and a curriculum that enables them to thrive.

About the Role

  • Delivering MFL Teaching - Teach engaging, meaningful language lessons, with the ability to deliver Spanish to KS4 essential
  • Differentiated Planning - Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet a wide range of SEND needs
  • Supporting ASC Learners - Adapt approaches to support pupils with ASC, SEMH and ADHD
  • Positive Behaviour & Engagement - Contribute to a structured, supportive environment that promotes confidence and progress
  • Collaborative Practice - Work closely with colleagues to ensure consistent, holistic support
  • Building Relationships - Establish strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support their learning journey

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Degree in Modern Foreign Languages or a related subject
  • Experience teaching MFL across Key Stages (SEND experience desirable)
  • Ability to teach Spanish to KS4
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to differentiate effectively and support a range of learning needs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • A reflective, proactive and nurturing approach
